1Agreement to these terms
In these terms, "Proxxera", "we", "us" and "our" mean the operator of this platform, "you" means the person or organisation using it, and "Brand" means an organisation with a dashboard account that generates and manages authentication codes.
By creating an account, purchasing credits, generating codes, or otherwise using Proxxera, you accept these terms and our Privacy policy. If you use Proxxera on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation — in which case "you" refers to it. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the service.
Business terms. These terms apply to all users. If you and we have signed a separate written master agreement or order form, that document controls where it conflicts with these terms.
2The service
Proxxera is a product authentication and anti-counterfeit platform. Brands purchase code credits, generate unique per-unit authentication codes, print them as QR labels with hidden PINs on their packaging, and buyers verify products through this website, SMS, or WhatsApp. The platform also provides batch and label workflows, mockup previews, fraud rules, verification intelligence, consumer report handling, and messaging gateway configuration.
We may modify, add or remove features from time to time to improve the service, provided that we will not materially reduce the core functionality you have paid for during a prepaid credit term without giving you reasonable notice.
The service depends on third parties we do not control — payment gateways, SMS carriers, the WhatsApp Cloud API, and internet hosting. Availability of those channels affects availability of verification on them; see Third-party services.
3Accounts and eligibility
Brand accounts are for businesses and their authorised personnel, and you must be at least 18 years old to create one. Accounts activate on first credit purchase or when onboarded by the platform team.
You are responsible for:
- keeping your credentials and any temporary password secure, and changing temporary passwords on first sign-in;
- all activity under your account, including by team members you invite as operators or viewers;
- the accuracy and lawfulness of the products, batches, label artwork and contact details you enter; and
- promptly telling us if you suspect unauthorised access.
One account per organisation is expected; sharing a single login across unrelated parties, or selling or transferring an account, is not allowed without our written consent. Buyer verification requires no account at all.
4Credits, pricing and payment
The service is prepaid and metered: one (1) credit generates one (1) unique authentication code. Credit packs are priced at the per-code rate shown to you at checkout (each Brand has its own configured rate) and are purchased through Paystack, Flutterwave or Monnify.
- When credits are granted. Credits are added to your wallet when the payment provider confirms the transaction to us via a verified webhook. We confirm against the provider's live status before your first credit is granted, and duplicate or replayed callbacks never credit your wallet twice.
- Insufficient balance. Generation is refused until your balance covers the full run — we never silently generate on credit.
- Prices. Prices exclude taxes unless stated otherwise. We may change the per-code rate for future purchases at any time; purchases already made are not repriced. Currency, fees and any taxes your bank or gateway charges are your responsibility.
- Credits do not expire while your account remains active and in good standing.
- Refunds. Credits are not refundable once codes have been generated from them, and are not refundable for failure to use them. If a payment is reversed or fails verification, credits granted for it will be removed. Where a refund is due to you under applicable law, it will be made to the original payment method.
Non-payment, chargebacks or payment fraud are grounds for suspension under Suspension and termination.
5Generating, printing and activating codes
Authentication codes move through a fixed lifecycle, and only activated codes can be verified as genuine:
- DRAFT — a batch has been created with its production date, time, line/shift, expiry and quantity, but no codes exist yet.
- GENERATED — codes have been created (consuming one credit each) and exported. The plaintext file (serial, code, verify URL) is made available for download one time only; we store only irreversible SHA-256 hashes. You must keep that file secure — we cannot recover lost codes.
- PRINTED — the batch has been sent to your label printer.
- ACTIVATED — codes go live. Codes are not verifiable until activation, so activate when the goods reach distribution.
- EXPIRED — set automatically by the nightly expiry job once the batch's expiry passes; expired codes return a warning result, not "genuine".
You are responsible for securing generated files, controlling access to your printer and label artwork, and ensuring codes are applied only to genuine goods. Codes left unactivated, printed on fake packaging, or leaked before activation undermine the guarantee your customers rely on — that risk sits with you.
6Your content and trademarks
You retain ownership of everything you put into Proxxera: product data, batch records, label artwork, logos, mockups, and report responses. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, reproduce and display that content solely to operate the service — generating labels, rendering mockups, showing your verification page, and delivering verification results to buyers.
You confirm that you own or are licensed to use everything you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break the law. You are responsible for your own legal compliance as a manufacturer or distributor, including product marking, labelling and any sector-specific regulation that applies to your goods.
We own Proxxera itself — the platform, software, dashboards, and our own logos and branding — and no licence is granted to copy, resell, or white-label them except as these terms allow. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the service without obligation to you.
7Acceptable use
You must not:
- reverse-engineer, probe, or attempt to derive the code generation algorithm, alphabet, or hashing scheme;
- bulk-scrape verification endpoints or submit automated, high-volume checks for research, harvesting, or denial-of-service;
- interfere with the service — probing, overloading, bypassing rate limits, or circumventing activation, expiry, fraud blocks or credit metering;
- impersonate another brand, register misleading slugs, or use Proxxera to legitimise counterfeit goods;
- use the platform for any unlawful purpose, including products prohibited by law;
- resell, sublicense, or provide platform access to third parties as a service without our written consent;
- upload content that infringes rights, contains malware, or violates law; or
- probe or attack our systems, or attempt unauthorised access to other Brands' data.
We may investigate suspected abuse. Violations — including fraud-rule evasion, scraping, or attempts to verify another brand's codes at scale — may result in suspension or termination without refund of remaining credits.
8What verification results mean
Verification results are advisory. They tell you what the platform knows about a specific code — they are not a warranty, certificate, or guarantee of any product's safety, quality, regulatory status, or origin.
- Genuine means the code matched an active, activated batch and this is the first time it has been checked. It does not independently inspect the goods themselves.
- Previously verified means someone checked this code before — on the date shown. Treat it with caution and report it if something seems wrong.
- Flagged / blocked / inactive / expired means the brand's fraud rules or activation status produced a warning. Do not rely on the product as genuine in that case.
- Invalid / not verified means the code does not exist in any batch on this platform.
Counterfeiters sometimes copy valid codes onto fake packaging; that is exactly why duplicate checks, cross-region spread and first-check dates are surfaced rather than hidden. Always read the full result, and when in doubt, report the product. We operate the platform with reasonable care but cannot guarantee against every counterfeiting technique, nor against results that are wrong because a Brand entered inaccurate batch data.
9Buyers, reports and rewards
Public verification and reporting are offered free of charge and without an account. When you submit a report, you agree that:
- the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- you are reporting in good faith, not to harass a brand, seller, or competitor;
- your report — including your phone number and any photo or receipt — will be shared with the brand whose code is involved, so it can investigate; and
- we may block or delete reports that are false, abusive, automated, or submitted in bulk.
Some brands choose to offer a reward for a verified report (for example, cash or product). Any reward is an offer made by that brand, on the terms it publishes on the report page; Proxxera is not a party to it and is not responsible for a brand failing to pay. We may share your contact details with that brand so it can arrange fulfilment.
Reporting a product does not oblige us to give you a result, compensation, or enforcement action. Suspected-counterfeit reports are intelligence for the brand — outcomes, if any, are theirs to decide.
10Fraud rules and automated actions
After each verification, the brand's configured fraud rules run against your check history (counts, duplicate patterns, cross-region and cross-device spread, and any hour windows the brand has set). Depending on the rule, an action is taken: monitor, flag (the code or check is marked suspicious), or block (the code stops returning genuine results).
Rules are set and edited by the brand, not hard-coded by us, and defaults seeded at onboarding can be changed in the dashboard. Automated flags and blocks reflect the brand's thresholds, not a finding of fact about you. If you believe a product was wrongly flagged or blocked, report it through the verification page and the brand can review it — we do not override a brand's rules on its codes.
11Third-party services
Parts of the service are provided by third parties: Paystack, Flutterwave and Monnify (payments), WhatsApp Cloud API, Twilio and SMS gateway providers (message delivery), and our hosting and infrastructure providers. Your use of a checkout or messaging channel is also subject to that provider's terms.
We are not liable for outages, delays, fees or errors originating with those providers, including failed message delivery, carrier filtering, gateway downtime, or payment reversals — though we remain responsible for our own obligations, such of them as are not affected by events outside our reasonable control. If a gateway is down, other configured channels remain available, and credits are only ever granted on a verified payment.
12Suspension and termination
Suspension. We may suspend all or part of your account — including code generation, exports, and in some cases verification display — if you breach these terms, engage in fraud or abuse, fail to pay, charge back a purchase, create legal or security risk, or if required by law. Suspended brands cannot generate codes and their dashboard actions are frozen until restored. Fraudulent, abusive or harmful verification traffic may also be blocked at the network level to protect other brands.
Termination by you. You may close your account by contacting us through the contact page. Closure does not entitle you to a refund of credits except where applicable law requires it.
Termination by us. We may terminate your account on 30 days' notice, or immediately for material breach. If we terminate without cause while your account is in good standing, we will refund the pro-rata value of unused credits.
After termination. Your licence to use the platform ends. We will retain or delete your data as described in our Privacy policy — billing records are kept where the law requires. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including payment obligations, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) survive termination.
13Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times, or that it will prevent every instance of counterfeiting.
Verification results, fraud flags and reports are informational outputs of an automated system operating on data supplied by brands and buyers. They are not a substitute for your own due diligence, product testing, or regulatory obligations. Nothing in the service constitutes legal, regulatory, or professional advice.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including any rights you have as a consumer.
14Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Proxxera and its directors, employees and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data, even if advised of the possibility.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service, in any twelve-month period, will not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you actually paid to Proxxera in that period, or (b) one hundred thousand Naira (₦100,000).
These limits apply to every theory of liability and apply even if any remedy fails of its essential purpose, except where applicable law does not permit the limitation — in which case the limit applies to the extent the law allows.
15Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Proxxera and its personnel from and against any claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: your products and their labelling; content you upload or publish through the service; your breach of these terms; your violation of any third-party right or applicable law; or a dispute between you and one of your buyers, sellers or reporters.
We will notify you of any claim promptly, and you may not settle a claim that imposes obligations on us without our written consent. This indemnity does not apply to claims caused by our own gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
16Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts located in Lagos State, Nigeria have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or the service, and you consent to their jurisdiction — except where consumer protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own country.
Before filing a claim, you and Proxxera agree to attempt resolution in good faith: contact us through the contact page, and we will try to resolve the matter within 30 days. Either party may then pursue the courts.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions stay in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
17Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when the current version took effect. For material changes, we will notify brand administrators through the dashboard or by email before the change takes effect. Changes take effect on the stated date, and your continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance — if you do not agree, you must stop using Proxxera and may close your account as described above.
